Just wondering if any one had any tips on getting my appaloosa cross blanket white. He hasn't worn a rug all winter and is pretty yellow and I am taking him to a show sunday. Thank you
I'd bath him. If it's cold do it quickly (you do one side and get someone else to do the other side, if you can get 2 people each side even better), add fleece rug, fold the front back and tuck it up under the saddle flaps, tie a knot in the cross surcingles so they're not trailing, ride at a brisk walk/trot until he's warm again (on the road so no dirt sticks to him, or in the arena if the legs are dark) then walk him until he's mostly dry, change to a fresh fleece/cooler rug and leave in the stable with a haynet until completely dry.
