What do you all use to clean your long leather boots, I hate doing them and would like to find something easy that isn't going to ruin them. Any ideas?

I tend to clean mud and sweat of with soapy water and a sponge and then treat with urad cream when dry.

Parade boot polish, leave on overnight and then buff in the morning, gives them such a shine!
In between classes i use the shine buffer thing that they do to just wipe over

I wipe mine with a damp cloth to get any greb off them, then clean using boot polish just like any nice leather shoes. Never, ever use tack cleaning products on them as they leave a waxy film and you can never get them shiney again - I learnt this the hard way!

FIRST STEP
warm water and a sponuge to remove any arena surface/mud/sweat/grease
SECOND STEP
we have this spray from Carr & Day & Martin called ''Belvoir Tack Cleaner'', it is simply sprayed onto the tack/boots and then using a cloth it is just rubbed in a bit and it really 'strips' the leather of ALL grease etc...but isnt atall damaging...really good stuff!
THIRD STEP
use a spongue to apply belvoir tack conditioning glycerine soap
really good conditioning soap...really gives a smashing shine (but that could also be due to the tack cleaning spray aswell)
FINALLY
if i have been hunting/xc and they have got particularly muddy/wet/cracked, then as a finishing touch i use Effax leatherbalm...it smells amazing!
haha, but it has beeswax in it and really deeply conditions leather.
you can tell im a bit obsessive with cleaning tack eh?

Then use Ariat polish also use Ariat waterproof spray quite regulary

Baby wipe just before going in ring. Don't want them too shiny might distract judge from that extra special medium trot (ducks to avoid flying pig)

clean dirt and grease off - I use plain water and a soft sponge
boot polish - either duster on and polish off or my OH does it traditionally with 2 brushes and lots of elbow grease
I've tried using the liquid cheat stuff but it's a very short term solution and doesn't leave the depth of shine proper polishing does.
My grandfather was in the Army and never let me leave boots dirty or cheat with maintaining them - which is probably why I still have my first pair of boots (1983!) still in use
