I think the tack room roof must have leaked over Christmas because I headed up today to find that the Wintec saddle I've been riding in is decorated with MOULD!

Bad enough if it was my saddle, but it's borrowed.

Any suggestions on the best way to clean it? If it was mine, I'd tackle it with diluted Dettol and risk damaging it, but I'm really not prepared to run that risk with somebody else's saddle.

Don't know if it would work but I had to clean some mould off the fabric of a pushchair after being stored in our loft, and I used white wine vinegar. It did the trick perfectly, might be worth diluting it before putting on a saddle.

Let it dry off completely and then hoover it to remove the loose spores. Once you've done that clean it with a Milton sterilising fluid solution (do a test patch first). That's how I clean moulding leather lack I get in for repair. Make sure you keep it away form your other tack until it's been decontaminated.

I did both! A first run over with very diluted vinegar, then a second with very diluted fairy liquid, complete with using a nailbrush to liven up the equisuede a little, as suggested on the Wintec site. It looks rather fab now, and hopefully the mould will stay gone.
