I don't think you can! haha.

Wait for him to drop it and spray baby oil on it, the crusty bits will drop off. Personally wouldn't interfere too much.

pmsl!! thats brilliant...sounds very complicated though!!! are we really meant to clean their parts at all?? Al's looks sooo unsightly and i really wanna get it sorted!

Some horses are very clean & don't need it doing at all....others are a different story & create much more smegma & need cleaning. It sounds as if your horse is the latter...

My young boy is awful. Just did this job again today.
I have to clean it regularly, as he produces so much smegma ewww!

He loves it thankfully and is happy for me to poke around, although he wont always drop his bits on command. But hes quite happy for me to wash it with the hose and use the appropriate soap etc.

My other boys hate it being done, but both are very clean so i rearly have to get my head nearly kicked in

Yes I too use soap like simple variety if it is particularly messy but I did find that using baby oil was very effective as it lubricates it as well as helping the dried smegma to come off.
My lad suffered with a dry willy earlier this year so I tried using vaseline and then the next month some baby oil and it made his skin normal again and not dry and cracked as it had been poor thing

I have only cleaned his bits around 3 times since I got him last September but I don't do the youngster as he is too nervous and I think it best not to interfere with nature unless there is a need to.

Does anyone know the best stuff to get all the yukky deposits off my pony's back legs?, we try to clean his bits but he must produce loads of smegma and it's really hard to get off, or should that be happening at all ?
