Clear round?

Grill

thank you...so is it against the clock?

Not at all, many places will relax the rules and allow you to have a few extra attempts at any if you do have a stop and you can usually pay to go back in several times if required to get the clear round, that will depend on numbers and how much time is available.

Not a competition as such. Just a chance to take your horse round a course in competition conditions and you get a rosette if you go clear. Really used for gaining experience for horse and/or rider. I'd generally expect to wear competition clothes, particularly if this is the clear round ring at an actual show. If it is just an arena doing "clear round" and no other classes, it is usually more relaxed about what you wear. You usually pay at the ringside and go straight in and get a rosette straight away if you are clear. You can have as many goes as you want (within reason - they may set a limit for welfare or "hogging the ring and not letting anyone else hava go" reasons). Often they will adjust height of fences etc for you and help if you have trouble eg to lower fence to get horse over etc but venues vary on that, depending how busy they are and how much help there is.

Thanks for all your replies! So I am doing my first clear round tonight ta the yard where I take jumping lessons and on the pony I often have in lessons. We are doing the dizzying heights of 65cm :D I am very excited and also extremely nervous!!! eek

For me, that is a dizzying height! Good luck and have fun!

Hello! Sorry for the delay! Work has been manic! Well we went clear :) I was offered either a bag of sweets or a rosette. i unashamedly took the rosette and proudly went pictures of it to be Dad, brother and Boyfriend lol! Already booked our next one and I am hoping to work towards doing a 75cm by the end of the year. I jump 75cm in lessons but jeez of stringing that all together is a different ball game so think I will stick to 65cm for the next few!

Thanks for all the support. I am only doing it for fun (and it was definitely fun) but it still made me nervous!

Have fun!. I still have the rosette from my first clear round from when i was about 13 / 14 on my green 13.2 pony

So do I!!! Was helping at a livery yard and we hacked ponies over to a show - pony was a very good jumper and the owner let me do the clear round. Was so proud, felt like Marion Mould and Stroller 😂😂😂
