For several years a local farmer has cleared our muck heap and spread what is very good qulity muck (Hemcore and very biodegradable) on his own land. This year he says he can no longer do this owing to EEC regulations that as he has a certain number of cattle whose muck exceeds the amount required for his acreage he cannot, therefore, take ours. He also has to 'contain' his own muck in a concreted 'clamp' - he uses an old silage clamp.
This leaves us totally stuck! What do other people do?. We dont have enough land to spread it on our paddocks and understand that the Council charges 'the earth' to do this.
