She has also been given a suspended prison sentence. The BBC article does not mention it is a Cleveland bay breeder but I read that in another news report, can’t remember where right now. Poor horses.

A quick google of the stud name seems to show she did a lot for the breed previously. How sad that things went so badly wrong for all concerned.

Seems like an unwell person who was struggling seems to have asked for help from the wrong people. If the report is accurate of course.

I just googled too - H&H has got its own news report. Sounds as though it’s more that she refused to ask for help, and left the horses to suffer instead…

So so sad. Poor horses. I always find neglect cases hard to understand.

Poor horses, disgusting they were kept in such conditions and suffered so much, a jail sentence should have been given.

Bought a 4yo from her many moons ago. Show quality and had been to the Gt Yorkshire but they didn't show him as in her words he was too wound up. Crikey, got him home and he was completely bouncing off the walls, and wouldn't hack out without breaking into a sweat. Tried hand walking and long reining too. We don't give up on many but she thankfully had him back. Irrelevant maybe but he was one of her homebreds and we couldn't even begin to work out what had happened to the poor lad.

This kind of story, good place goes bad, usually turns out to be a mental health issue, especially where advancing age is involved.
