cleveland bays [hero to zero]

Hi, I have just bought my 3rd Part CB from Sussex, her grand sire was Bantree Bere. I would love to know more about him does anyone have a good photo of him? There is a good thread running on Latest News about CBs.

I fell into owning a CB by accident, my old DWB mare had a stroke and a friend suggested I go and have a look at this horse who was looking for a good new home, so I went along not really sure what to expect and instantly fell in love!!! Ollie was my first CB and also my first stallion he has been with us for 2 1/2 years now and so far hasn't put a hoof wrong, he is like my best friend, loves to compete will try anything for me. We have had a few disputes but normally it is because something is wrong and he is trying to tell me in his own way that there is a problem. we drag hunt and it is nothing for me to hack to and from a meet and hunt for 4 hours he just loves to work, we go on fun rides, he jumps does riding club dressage, shows in hand and under saddle and is just a brilliant all rounder who has a very willing gentle nature. a beginner can ride him my niece and son both 12 years old have been on his back numerous times he will go through the heaviest traffic and always has admiring glances and comments off people, I don't think it is the horses that are to blame, the economic climate is discouraging people from breeding, though CB are hardy and live out happily, the publicity just isn't there a lot of people ask me what breed he is and have never heard of Cleveland Bays. I hear of people who have his foals from previous owners and they say that his temperament and good nature have been passed along the line too.
