Clever Mr Fox!

The hunt was around today. I'm not a memeber but they are always good enough to ring beforehand so that we can get our horses in. Anyway hounds were racing around frantically, foot followers eagerly watching and the meet charging up and down past our house. I could see everything from our bedroom window....including Mr Fox running across the back lawn and across the road up into the village, hounds meanwhile were going in the opposite direction!! An hour later they have moved away and I watched Mr Fox run across the fields back home safe and sound. Pleased really 'cos he looked to be in mint condition and very handsome and he is the only thing keeping the pesky rabbits dowm.

'Cos he went one way and every one else went the other way of course!! Maybe I'm wrong but I thought it was only illegal to hunt with hounds. Our hunt has an eagle I believe. Not trying to be clever 'cos hunting really isn't my thing. Please tell me if I've got the wrong end of the stick. Anyway it made me giggle when you hear all these anti hunt bods up in arms because the fox gets so stressed. This one was clearly not in the least bit worried, just had his day disrupted a bit.

Thats the way it is now, fox goes one way and the hounds go the other on an laid trail!!!!

Maybe he wasn't so clever after all then!! Think I'll stick to dressage seems much less complicated.He he.

umm, i think hounds 'rioting' after a fox still happens. oh dear. bet the field and hunt servants are gutted when that happens...
