I have a sec d x tb mare who ive owned for 3.years shes now approx 15 yo and has since ive owned her had clicking joints. i cant quite pin point it but its her off hind and sounds like her hock but could be her fetlock. recently ive noticed more clicking its now both hind legs and her off side knee. It actually sounds more like a snap than a click.

is this normal and is there any supplements she can have to help? She doesnt seem to be in pain with it and is completely sound.

My welsh d har clicky hocks for years, first vet said it's nothing when i changed practices and god a lameness work up done two years later, she was getting lame behind, turnt out she had djd in her hocks.

Speak to vet, could be nothing could be start of something.

My Section D x TB has been clicky in his back end since i have owned him(16 now and have had him since he was 6). Dont think its anything to worry about as i have never had any issues with soundness and he has led a very active life and still does !

Thanks for your help do u mean degenerative joint disease by djd?

yep, thats what i mean. she had her injections roughly 6 years ago and came back okay tho wasn't allowed t jump, she is 21 now and still hooning around like a 2 yearold with ADHD:D we go on sponsered rides and she has just started jumping again on a surface as vet said of she was up for it little and often and not that high is fine.

she is lameish for the first 15mins of warm up then comes sound.

xx

My gelding would click in his neck and be very stiff for the first 20 minutes of exercise, I started feeding glucosamine & there's been a terrific improvement. I'm wondering if I should take some myself. Lol!
