Hi, I've noticed my new mares leg clicks, once she has warmed up though it no longer clicks.

She is not lame on it or appears to be stiff, just makes the clicking noise. Would feeding cod liver oil help?

She is 7 YO, thanks x

One of our horses has a clicking leg and it turned out to be an acute sticking stifle. We just have to do some hill work with her to build the muscle up to stop it sticking but even when it's not playing up it sill clicks. Is it a hind leg your horse has the clicking in?

My mare does that.
The vet says its a clicking stifle and nothing to worry about. Sometimes when she has been stood resting on that leg when we ask her to pick it up it kind of sticks and she flicks it up - accidentally once kicked the farrier in doing so!
Trot work on hills helps stop it apparently, but the vet also said as she gets older (shes 6) it will likely stop.
As long as shes sound and happy I wouldnt worry :)

Thanks, yes she does similar when I pick her hoove out too. Such a reliefe that it is nothing to worry about. I have been doing alot of hill work recently to build muscle so hopefully she will grow out of it.

Thank you x
