"Clicking" when walking

I have recently rescued a rising 3 Welsh Section A who seemingly has not had the best start in life but I don't actually know a huge amount of history about her.

Instructor who is also a qualified equine masseuse did some work with her over the weekend - her posture was poor and she was very tense...neck tight, causing back to dip and bottom to clench inwards. She is now much looser and her shape has changed and she is now out 24 hours a day (since Saturday) - she had previously spent 10 days stabled but with twice daily turnout...this was to ensure she was safe to handle etc.

The last two mornings she has been laying down in the field and when she gets up to greet me I have noticed a clicking noise somewhere in the back end when she walks. Nothing appears to be sticking, although she does seem a little stiff.

Obviously I will be speaking to my instructor/masseuse again but this post is more of a feeler to see if anyone has experienced similar with their equine as I havent!

My boy gets this from time to time, quite often when he is not worked as often as usual, it usually goes away after a minute or so on the rare ocasions he gets it, but this week he had a field moment and the clicking turned up again as I felt I couldn't work him and he has had a week off. The click hung around around for a long time when I took him in to free school him to see if he had improved with rest.

My chiro has seen him this morning and said it was possibly where the suspensory ligament had loosened from me not working him and him carried himself a little differently to usual nothing to worry about she pulled him around a bit and he is now fine, it should go when he returns to reguar work. It can just be "air" in the joint which would make sense if there is a little stiffness there - try to find a good well qualified equine chiropractor or body worker to go over him and maybe try a little long reining if you feel he is up to it to get him moving about a bit more, hopefully he will loosen up and it will sort itself out.
