Friend has a horse at moment, has clicky leg in WALK only ALL the time, offside rear or could be higher up, stifle or hip?

Occasionally clicky sounds in trot but not all the time as in walk!

Does not seem to affect mare at all, in fact quite a feisty so and so!

Never lame or sick or sorry, loves jumping, is it worth calling the vet (probably will anyway) but she only noticed it last week when I mentioned it!!

Any bad or good experiences of clickyness!

I've known a few clicky horses and none have had any problems, worth getting checked though. The worst it could be is probably arthritis.

I had a pony that had clicky legs and it turned out that he had locking stifles and we had to do lots of riding up big hills and it improved the clicking but he was still a bit stiff sometimes.

My boy clicks in his hock. Causes no problems. Has done it since I got him age 10, he's now 16 yrs.

Some 'clicky joints' are the result of a tendon snapping across a bone as the joint is flexed and straightened, flexed and straightened.

To be on the safe side, have a vet check.
