Her horse's knees click when walking, and the vet suggested cod liver oil. But she was wondering if you wise ol' folk know anything else which could help but isnt overly expensive :D
Anything you have used which you think has worked effectively?
Thanks :) x

Any sort of oil will help a little, but cod liver is the best. Theres also all the sort of joint supplements from feed shop.

I have really bad knees some times so take glucosamine, I've also been told to feed this to horses with bad joints. Bigger dosage tho.

I thought you were describing me in your post then!!! hahaha, yes I'm having problems with my knees currently!! Actually funny that both my own physio and doctor and my vet have all said just because you hear a click doesn't mean necessarily that anything is wrong, some joints just do, what you have to watch for is pain associated with it. If the horse isn't tripping, lame or showing any signs that this clicking is bothering it then you don't necessarily need to do anything.

But if you want to give a supplement to aid joints then you can try apple cider vinegar, i've heard a few people say this has helped. Or some major brands like equine america etc do a glucossamine and msn supplement priced at £15.99 (will last 2 months)
