Off we toddled today to a showjumping clinic, I'm not a very good jumper at all even if George does know what he's doing, so I was rather nervous. He loaded up straight off, so all these outings are obviously doing him some good :)

Got there very early as a friend was in the group before me, and I wanted to see a bit of hers and gets some pictures for her too. They were jumping fantastically, and the course they finished on looked huge to me, it was probably 80-90.

There were 4 of us in the group, and 2 of them are competing in teams at 80 so I was feeling a bit like the numpty of the class, but the first round started off very low, and we did it really well even though I may have lost my way once or twice :wink3:

Jumps went up a bit, and I had a few wobbly bits but got round the course again without any major mishaps, then we all did it again before the course got completely changed round. First jump was a vertical with a couple of fillers underneath, well I knew G wasn't going to like it and sure enough, despite my growling on the approach, we had a run out. And again. And again :rolleyes3: RI got really cross with me, as a run out is always rider error :o came round again, and we still didn't jump the blasted thing but this time was a stop instead of a run out. Came round again and cleared it this time, to many cheers and whoops and hollers from the others. I wanted to stop at this point, but there was no way that RI was letting me get away with that, so I did all the course except the last one, which again we knew would be a problem.

The jumps were all going up again, so I decided to call it a day, but asked my friend if she'd hop on and take G round the slightly bigger course; I do feel like I'm beginning to sap his confidence with my nerves as he's a sensitive soul but very genuine, and she rode him beautifully around it, so we ended on a good note. He seemed very happy and pleased with himself, and loaded straight back on the lorry again for the return trip, so fingers crossed we've sorted the loading out.

No pictures of me, but I have got a video of my friend's round on him http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spggLadmIik

Well done JB. Take my hat off to you if you are not a confident jumper. Nice to have a friend to take him round at the end, its always fun to see your own horse in action. Glad the loading has improved so much.

Well done JB at least each lesson you get further and you are braver that me. G did show he is more than capable with your friend so that must help you for next time. Glad he is loading well and well done again an 8" cross pole is about my limit.

Well done. I think you should stop worrying about what other people jump, on their horse or yours, and just have fun jumping what you are capable of at the moment.

Thank you all.

Sprig, that's very true thank you - I do rather worry about holding other people back in a clinic situation though
Hobo I've seen your pictures of you jumping a little more than an 8" cross-pole, even if you & Summer aren't ready to do much more than that at the moment, you are definitely capable.
TFF yes I think G enjoyed his jumpies, don't think he really sees the point of dressage :D
Thanks Chiffy, yes I love seeing others riding my horse, and she really enjoyed riding him (she assured me she wasn't just saying that!).
