My retired girl has been getting too hot in this weird mild weather we are having.
She’s currently sporting a low trace clip but is still a bit sweaty in her stable.
Do I clip just a bit more off? she might still be too warm or she might be just right and while it’s warm and not too wet I can turn out unrugged.
Or
Do I do a more drastic clip (medium to high trace clip I expect) and be sure she’s not too hot and accept I will need to rug her.

Mine was sweating in her stable yesterday too! Thankfully she was due to be clipped anyway yesterday so she’s now had it all off…she had it done in late September but it had all grown back.

Yes I agree it won’t be this mild for long!

I first clipped about 6 weeks ago and have been telling myself ever since “we’re due a cold snap any day”
I’ve re clipped the bits I clipped last time and was amazed how much coat she’d grown in 6 weeks. I hoped that reclipping those areas yesterday would be enough, but she was still clammy tonight.
