i clipped my very hairy horse about 2 weeks ago, (full clip) it was my first time clipping. He was very fluffy and getting hot and sweaty, and I had a few comps coming up so needed the fuzz off!

Anyway, it was only just over 2 weeks ago and already he is really fluffy again!

Is this because his winter coat was still coming in?

When i got my horse in Jan he had a trace clip and clipped part stayed really 'naked' til about May! The clipped parts then that were 6 - 8 weeks old were shorter than his coat now aster only 2 weeks! Whats going on?

I've noticed that Mr C has suddenly gotten very woolly in the last week - I thought he'd grown most of his coat in but obviously not - he was out naked all day today and when I went to bring him in he was actually sweating so he'll be getting clipped in the next couple of weeks!

Spent all afternoon diligently clipping perfect lines on 3 ponies, wish i'd just whipped the whole lot off now, far easier.

But yes the coats grow like weed in October, one i re-clipped today was done 3 weeks ago and you could barely see the lines where she'd grown straight back in.

My boy got his third full clip yesterday....couldn't believe it!! Hopefully I'm not going to to be covered in hair every fortnight...don't worry you're not alone....xxxxxxxxxxx

1st clip never last and the early you do it the quicker it grow out............mine was done 2 weeks ago too, yet sweated today when I was just walked her out to keep a youngster company.

Same here - my daughter's pony was clipped right out only about 2 weeks ago and competing at the weekend, he was dripping - having said that, it was a mild day and I got sunburn on the back of my neck! It was an ODE too so 3 things to do for him - he was hot. Will be clipped again in a couple of weeks time.
