managed to get both horses clipped yesterday (in the dry, albeit cold weather!), then OH and I went out for a good ride with them, prior to opening meet next weekend. :)

excuse how fat and disinterested they both look (and the OH!) - they were just back from our ride and just wanted rugs on and to go out, not stand and have photos taken!

Tom's new do! (can you tell I've shaved half his mane out most of the way up his neck??):o

Ron, looking obese, and a really funny colour!)

Looking good!

I did the second of my two today. I was only meant to be doing a trace on him, but only got back from a trip last night and was tired, so forgot and did a big line up his neck, so he now sports a nice blanket clip instead!! I did a bit of accidental mane thinning too. :o

our mane "thinning" was certainly not accidental... he's got the most revolting mane! He's out of a welsh pony, by a Hannoverian Stallion, but apart from his height he is a welsh pony, so he's got typical welshie wire wool thick mane, and you can't pull it unless he's sedated!! It usually gets solo combed, but that only shortens it.

he was sedated a few weeks ago for something so I took loads out (literally a waterbucket full!) then and it was still too thick to plait, so I carefully took a strip out on the underside of his mane, and clipped very close/slightly in to his mane on his near side.

I know what you mean! He looked quite pink on my phone too! He's a funny colour at the best of times though - when you clip Tom, what comes off is basically black. When you clip Ron though, you get everything from black, through brown and orange, to white!!
