Clipped horse grows back coat, but when clipped again, doesn't WYD

As the title suggests, my horse grows back a bit of fur soon after her first clip of the season, but if clipped again, it stays very short until the summer coat comes through. She isn't in a huge amount of work so although I have clipped twice in previous years, I am hesitating a bit on the second coat clip (she is a warmblood). Anyone have this with their horse?

The second, later clip will always last longer.

I have a horse that does that, no idea why as all the others I've had have shown at least a little hair growth, and I always do the second clip at the same time. It's only a pain in that it has to be done really carefully as any small marks or tramlines won't go until his summer coat grows through.

It will happen with every horse in winter it's because the second clip is normally done later in the year when the winter coat has fully grown, so there is basically no more coat to grow until spring when they shed and grow a summer coat.

I'd be delighted! I never seem to stop clipping mine. But for most horses a clip around Christmastime will last them the rest of the winter and into the spring.

If I clipped now, mine would grow back as his winter coat hadn't fully come through. As he's a tb with a really fine coat, he doesn't need it yet. If I can last into December, it will stay the same till spring.

As above. Mine usually gets a 3rd clip late Jan but not always. Once the winter coat is done growing that's it until the summer coat.

I have to clip my Connie 4 times between September and Christmas as during this time his winter coat continues to grow. Once we get to the shortest day he doesn't grow a single hair until his summer coat comes through. So his last clip happens at the beginning of January.
This year he is having some time off so he just looks like a polar bear!!

Maybe the winter coat has kind of stopped growing by then, it has a sprout at the start of winter

Mine has almost outgrown his first clip (done nearly 4 weeks ago) and will be done again in December which should hopefully last him til Spring.
