Last year before my first show i was trimming my horse up, didnt have a tail rake and was asking on the yard if anybody had one, my mums friends said oh you dont need one took my clippers and shaved my horses tail down the sides, it grows out like a bog brush so since then as iv been going to shows i havent been able to let it grow out. I clipped over it again down the sides about 1 or 2 weeks ago and have bought 2 tail rakes the other day, tried to use them and it didnt work as it had been clipped. I have a show on the 10th July and im not sure what to do, the tail is already looking stupid and i dont know if i should clip it again for this season and then leave it to grow out over winter. I would look silly at shows with her tail all bushy and sticking out.

what do you think? thankyouu :D

Some one did this to my horses tail...i wasnt happy (wasnt just the sides was his whole dock!!...its taken a year for it even resemble something like a normal tail when i pull it!

I would try and pull as that is correct as amymay said if not i would clip it as it will look tidier!

A pulled tail grows back like a bottle brush too, unfortunately :( so you have to keep at it to keep it looking smart. I pulled my youngster's tail for a show and now wish I hadn't bothered :( :(

Oh dear, i didnt know that... I think ill just do what i have to for this year and let her get all hairy over winter lol! Ta for letting me know, as it grew back i would have been thinking id done something wrong :)
