Clipped, trimmed and pulled today...

Ha ha! Yes I had noticed the slight 'stress' you have on recently! ;):D

I am the same when I just go to a little local show - so goodness knows what I would be like a at a county!

Enjoying your updates, keep them coming...:)

Honestly, I pretty much get this stressed at any show... I've not 'shown' for about ten years... And at that point ebs was so tense I knew we wouldn't win. This is bens first year and I like the fact that we are going on a ticket... I have no entitlement or expectation of a rosette, which means its just a practice this weekend... And the fact that that lifts the pressure is so needed! In less than two weeks time I can say I have done a county... That's all I want, after that I take a weeks breather and start schooling and popping tiddly jumps. Much more my scene!

Another good tip, if you clip the winter hair off the legs with the hair rather than against, it will blend neatly and be pretty impossible to spot :) I hope I explained that well, if not, you can bash me on the head, it would probably improve matters ;)

No that is a good tip, and I was considering just clipping down the lines to 'blend' them... So you've confirmed an idea of mine, thank you.

I can bash you on the head anyway if you want though:p

He looks like a different horse without his feathers!

Not sure how the pros do it, stressful enough with one horse- although once you're on top of the maintenance it's not that hard. Al is a real stickler for correct turnout so hers are kept looking 'show ready' whenever they're not on holiday. Makes it much easier to then polish them up :D

Thank you! God its manic, i finished work at half three and only just got in after going to breeders to get new transfer of ownership document for him (passport and original reciept have been lost in post) Now have to pay for duplicate, fast track and transfer of ownership (although Duplicate and FT being reimbursed by Royal Mail as was sent recorded!), also been to a couple of friends house to borrow bits and bobs for show day and got caught up chatting.

Ben must hate me, im like a drill Sargent lunge, side reins on and lead in hand... day in day out and then a walk off and numerous carrot stretches... plus rigorous groom and strapping! I want him to be perfect in hand and we still have 'episodes' of him trying to trot off (so I just tap him, growl and circle) although a lot of control is down to my voice commands so really just want leading to become like groundhog day!

Have bridle to clean tonight so I can leave it at the stable tonight!! Shattered.com!!!
