When putting blades onto clippers how do you know when the bolt is tight enough. I vaguley remember someone telling me to tighten when the clippers are running and wait for the change in tone but not sure if this is correct. I always just tighten them and see how it goes and they usually clip ok but is there a 'correct' way?

My tells me on the instructions

HI Hon, have'nt a clue about your clipper problem, mine are probably going to stay as hairy monsters unless I can con you in to some work on the side when you have done yours. Just needed to touch base and say how great it was to catch up with your O/H saturday and all the horsey news , floor stuff finally dried this morning so got mats down before work. would love you both to come up for dinner soon .Oh and had to tell someone....Nick bought Kiri (and me) a georgeous Keiffer bridle today , I just opened it and fell in love .

U were quite right the first time. Let the clippers run on a fairly loose tension i usually add a bit of oil then tighten until you hear a deepening in the sound. This should then be tight enough but it does sometimes depend on how sharp your blades are. You may need to adjust the tension as you clip but try not to tighten them too much as u will put the machine under too much preassure and the blades will get v hot.

Happy clipping got lots to do myself this week

Not a problem with doing yours sometime I seem to be doing half the yard!!!
Kiri is fab to clip sp shouldn't take me long. Dinner sounds lovely let me know when.

Would be good if we didn't have to work the next day so let me know when you're working text would be best unless you want all of H and H to know!

Tighten them as firmly as you can, then loosen them by one and a half turns and that should give you roughly the right tension (but listen for the smoothest running sound too and oil them liberally when first restarting them).
