Clipper oil

This may sound really stupid, but, I really need to clip the beasties, but I've just realised I've run out of oil...is there anything else I can use? Won't be able to get to a horsey shop till next Saturday as I don't drive, there's no local ones open on a Sunday and Monday - Friday is out due to trying to get someone to take me...
Ideally I want to get one of them done tomorrow (medical reasons means she needs done ASAP) so any advice is greatly appreciated!

As above, I would order online. There are loads of places that sell it and can ship next day. Be careful about which one you choose. Some horses react badly to a certain clipper oil. Best to go with one with a bactericide and a soothing oil like lavender to try and make sure you minimise the chance of a bad reaction.
 
I was reading about clipper oils for a horse that gets clipper rash badly and one suggestion to reduce the effects was to use baby oil. I have no idea whatsoever if it would work instead of proper clipper oil but you may have some that would let you clip tomorrow.

alternatively someone will come on and say that is a seriously bad idea!
 
Use baby oil at your own peril! It is quite thick compared to clipper oil. I could be wrong but I really wouldn't recommend putting it on your clippers as you risk breaking them.
 
I have used 3 in 1 oil in the past in an emergency which can be bought most places. Will tide you over but wouldn't use longer than you have to.
 
There is definitely a thread on here.

The Engineer recommended R15 oil from lister and we got it off amazon so next day delivery wd be possible.

I seem to remember he only recommended 2 and all others cd potentially damage clippers.

Thanks to the engineer my wolsey clippers ran MUCH cooler than normal.

Whatever you do don't use WD40, it doesn't cool or sufficiently lubricate your blades. It will knacker them. Order some oil on libe & get it delivered to you.
 
It is probably too late for this now but maybe around on the yard and see if someone can lend you some clipper oil until you are able to order some on-line or get to a tack shop.
