1. What clippers do you have?
2. Why you have those clippers? (What you like about them)
3. If you don't mind how much they were?

If you have a link would be very grateful :D

I would like to buy my own pair of clippers and have always heard good results about Liveryman and have got a pair of hand clippers but this year would like my own pair of big clippers :p

Thanks In Advance

1. Heiniger Handy Clippers
2. Had good reviews and recommendations - needed something robust
3. I paid £90 second hand off eBay, had them serviced and put new blades on. RRP = £250ish, but you can get them cheaper if you search online.

Thank you very much, looking at link now looks a lovely clipper. How many clips can you get out of them before you got to sharpen blades? x

I've got Heiniger Progress clippers.
They were recommended by Farmcare.co.uk when I phoned to order a different set.
I've had them for over 3 years & they're great, even clipping a very hairy cob very often.
I think they were £220 with extra blades.

Oh and to add I have heineger progress clippers, I like the fact they are slim and easy to hold, and also the fact that they are very quiet so my nervy cob doesn't mind them :) I have done 3 clips (2 x blanket, 1 x trace + legs) and they are still sharp :)

1)Liveryman Whisper
2)they are very quite & chordless so can clip anywhere i want. Have 2 batteries tho so dont have to work against the clock to get my lines perfect
3)around £300 5ish yrs ago so are prob more expensive now, extra battery was £70

Soz no link :(

1. What clippers do you have?
Wahl Avalon Cordless Clipper
2. Why you have those clippers? (What you like about them)
They are cordless so don't have to worry about being near mains electricity and the battery lasts long. They are very quiet, lightweight and don't overheat. Also has a 'snap in' blade so don't have to worry about tension.
3. If you don't mind how much they were?
Honestly can't remember how much I paid for them but goggled them and they're coming up around £200 new.

WOW, good price. Thanks x

Sorry, having a senior moment and can't remember the name but they are the Lister battery clippers. Bought as stables didn't have mains power but very pleased with them so would recommend them even if you did have leccy. Think they were around £200, also from Farmcare - think their prices are quite hard to beat and certainly seem to know their clippers.

Awww no worries. Prices from Farmcare are very good. Thanks x

I have 2 sets, heavy duty Dextella mains set and Liveryman Harmony battery.

If you are on a budget and have electricity. The Dextella ones are great! They are quite heavy and noisy, but at around £80 now (I paid about £110 3 years ago), they are a bargain! I believe Farmcare sell them, but saw someone selling a set on ebay, with no bids currently at £39.99.
The only reason I bought another set is that I moved from a yard to a field with no electricity. I think I paid about £180 for the Liveryman Harmony and they too are a good clipper. However wish I had electricity, as the Dextellas are much more powerful for doing a big hairy horse!

1. Heineger Handy clippers
2. I tried a few different ones (borrowed from friends) and liked these the most
3. £199 from Cyber Checkout, with a free set of Liveryman trimmers

Have had a nightmare trying to get them serviced though!!

Wow the Dextella are a great price but definately a NO for me as clippers must be quiet as got a very nervous boy when it comes to clipping!! Thanks for reply. I also need a powerful pair for my hairy beast :p x

I have the premier dominance clippers because they were advertised at work and when I looked into them they had very good reviews, they take lister blades and hauptner blades so they are super easy to replace/get in different grades. They are light and reasonably quiet and capable of several full clips back to back. I did three very hairy natives straight off last year without over heating.

I bought them for £50 with two sets of blades second hand but I think they might be hard to come by in the country? Maybe ebay if your interested. The receipt the girl at work had originally was in the case and they were £230 new

Here is the peasridge review which is fairly accurate and unbiased!
