Clipper recommendation

Hi help please
I have a warmblood to clip fully 1 to 2 times a year and then a woolly pony which will need some form of a clip several times a year as of next year so want something that is up to the job of both.

Any recommendations (pros cons etc) please as I'm going round and round in circles

I bought one of these last year. OMG it didn't get hot at all and was good on my bank balance too! I spent an hour clipping my rather fuzzy ISH and it didn't miss a beat. My friend had to stop several times with her wolsley and was very impressed,

I know several people that clip several horses over the winter (they are professionals) and they have used them and recommended them to me based on comparisons to other clippers.

The clippers in the above link are just re-branded Sure Clip clippers but more expensive. I had a pair of sure clips for 4 years and they worked hard during that time and worked really well but nowhere will service or repair them :(
Best to stick to main brand clippers like Lister, Liveryman, Heiniger, Hauptner etc.
 
Just bought myself Heiniger xplorer and love them.

I had clipped my 6 year old for the first time the week before with a friend and he was very fidgy and nervous. Just a lower tracer. Wasn't brave enough to do more.

When my old clippers weren't repairable I chose the above because I didn't want a cable he could trot on.

On Monday I clipped him again with the new ones. No help around and he stood like a pro. They seem to be quieter than my Lister. Not heavy. 2 hours before it needs charging. You could buy an extra spare battery if you need to.

Agree with Llee94, the clippers pictured with the awesome "Impartial Review" are Re branded Sureclips from China. Hello Kitty has bought the good ones, the Heinigar Xplorer and Xperience are both great clippers. WOuld also say the Hauptner 3000 is a stonking machine, but the blades are so expensive and when the guide pins in the head go,it is often uneconomic to fix. Which is a shame. I have maintained for years if Hauptner addressed the head issues on their machines and did their blades at a realistic price they would sell ten times the machines.
 
I have Wolsley Swift clippers, they do a good job even with me being a numpty cack handed clipper, easy to set up and not hugely expensive to find second hand either.
 
I used to have some lister neons and then some lister Liberty - both used to get really hot. So last year I bought some Heiniger xperience ones and they are really good. They are very powerful and don't get at all hot. I did have to buy some fine blades though as the mediums they came with did not clip as close as the lister medium blades.

Just to clarify the review is impartial, I know the girl that gave it and it is very much impartial and she was in no way compensated by the company at all.

I'm sorry I even suggested them now.

They use the Heiniger blades, as confirmed by the company mentioned.

They use "Heinigar Compatible" blades, a very subtle difference, these are Chinese copies of Heinigar blades. Heinigar blades are quality blades made with Swiss/German steel to exacting tolerances. The blades on the mentioned machine are Chinese blades, probably made with Chinese Steel, which may or may not contain recycled steel and be of indeterminate quality. Like everything in life.You pay your money, you take your choice. As an Engineer with years in the clipper trade, I would not choose that machine. However if I was on a limited budget and could not afford to buy a "Real Heinigar" perhaps then, I would be driven by price and maybe be lucky that the performance and quality I had paid for was "good value". My "Awesome Impartial Review" related to the review, which was awesome. The lady concerned was obviously very pleased with them and happy to share her opinion.
 
Would agree re getting a well known brand.
This morning I chaser-clipped a Cushings pony with a Lister cordless that is at least 30 years old, OK it had brand new blades and has had a replacement battery but if you look after them good clippers will last a long time.

I got one of these about 2 years ago and mines also great! I had two seriously fluffy beasts, an ISH and a little cob but did both perfectly 2/3 times a year, just about to break it out again for the new horse :)
