clipper recommendations

Hi I'm a newbie.

Really keen to buy some clippers but haven't got much money and don't know where to start. Any ideas??

Lister Star are fantastic. I don't own any (getting some later this year hopefully!) but 4 people at my yard have them. I borrow one ladies to clip Red and she's had them for years.

Another vote for the Lister Star clippers

I was very lucky some years ago to pick up Lister showman clippers that ran off a battery pack, I run them off my car battery so don't need electric. They were reduced to £130 . They were my birthday present to myself.

Some of the older British made models like the Lister Stablemate, Showman, and Wolseley Swift etc are a better bet second hand and more reliable than the current (mainly made in the Far East) models.
