My heavy cobs legs are scabby and crusty have been recommended to clip his legs as the field is so muddy. would anyone recommend some clippers please that would be able to do the job, am so confused by brands and which ones are good. Don't want to spent 400 pounds they will probably only get used a few times a year. thanks :)

I have been very impressed with my cordless Sureclips, only done 2 clips so far but the batteries last for 3/4 of a 17hh horse to fully clip and the blades seem sharp still. Only £125!

Lister Star, work fabulously on my heavy weight cob. I scissor off as much feather as possible first, though, obviously. He's proper job hairy.

for doing feathers or full clips on a horse who is good to do - the wolseley swifts...

for anything less hairy, re-clipping, or for nervous ones the wahl avalon or lister harmony....

the smaller 2 would be fine on clean dry feathers if you scissored off most of it first.
