Well having had my liveryman red rockets for 5 years, they have been sent for repair and it is going to cost nearly as much as a new pair. Lots of new clippers in the market now and wondered if anyone had some recommendations?

I use the heiniger xplorer at work, while I can see they have pros i personally don't like them to handle and find them noisey and getting the tension set at first is a PITA. Other than that I've only known my red rockets for so long.

Don't mind having a cable as electric is no problem. My 2 are very hairy, shetland and Dale's. Dales needs a full clip, shetland gets low trace but their hair is tough!

I've just bought the Heiniger Delta 3, they are incredibly heavy duty and went through a full fjord coat easily. They are fairly heavy though but very easy to use.

You could look at the Liscop 4000, these take Wolseley type blades and are made by Liscop in Germany (Liscop have supplied clippers to Wolseley and Liveryman for years) They actually manufacture your Red Rocket (Liscop Cutli) The 4000 is quite a good machine, similar in size to the Heinigar Xplorer.Liscop also manufacture the Profiline machine, very similar to the 4000, but takes Heinigar type blades and is quieter. The Delta three is a good old workhorse, but is a fair bit lumpier than your Red Rocket.
