What do you lol use/recommend? My clippers have finally given up the ghost after 15 years and I’ve decided to replace them rather than look into getting them fixed. They are Heiniger ones and I’ve certainly had my use out of them over the years. Looking to spend up to £300. Interested in both mains and battery operated ones, would prefer something quiet as my Heiniger ones were quite noisy. Thanks 😊

Heiniger XPlorer cordless if you can get them for under £300. They are pretty quiet for full size clippers, and a bonus is that you will be able to use your existing blades.

Cordless really are worth it even if you have mains electricity at the yard, as I have. It's so much safer not having a trailing mains lead around the horse.

I've owned my Heiniger Delta 3 speeds for well over 10 years but haven't used them since I got the Xplorerers. They are great clippers but they are mains operated...

I use predominantly Lister Laser's at the yard but they are very heavy duty. I also have a pair of Liveryman Black Beauty clippers and they can go very very quiet if you turn the speed down. They aren't the noisiest on full speed either and they are quite lightweight. But although they say they are heavy duty they aren't up to the abuse I put clippers through - I can clip up to 12/13 horses a day.

I've had my lister stars over 10 years now & I find them amazing, nice clean cut & dont over heat like my Liveryman Harmonys used to. They're mains operated but then I have two which stand still & enjoy a clip so no real issue.

i have liveryman harmony plus clippers, they’re only medium duty but i love them, for a complete beginner to clipping they’ve been ace🤣 i managed to do a (very tidy!) irish in about 20 minutes😂

I just bought these clippers after my last ones died mid clip! They were only £230 and managed an Irish clip on a Fell pony without any problems.

I read the reviews first and lots of people said they'd clipped out a cob easily.

I'm really impressed with them!

I bought my first set 2 years ago and asked around my equine network before I did. Masterclip HD roamers were a popular choice and very reasonably priced. I have never used other clippers so can't compare them (I always had pros clip mine before then) but I can hunter clip a whole Clydesdale with just one battery (and they come with a spare) and they cope well with his yak like fur. Mine were a demo pair so were even cheaper.

Ive got masterclip roamers. I haven’t used any others so can’t really compared but I’m pleased with them. The battery lasts ages and they are good at going through my IDs coat

Liveryman Black beauties!

I have tried a few different over the last couple of years. The battery pack is excellent, lasts hours and they’re so easy to use

I rate them too but I only use them as a trimmer as they wouldn’t get close to clipping out my cob. I actually think they would faint at the thought 😳😂
