Ok, I'm lucky enough to have my own set of clippers, they are huge and cut like a knife through butter!! I truely love them and they clip very quickly.

However due to my cob having very coarse hair on his legs, I need something (possible rechargeable with no lead?) which is smaller, easier to handle, yet still man for the job.

I have had a pair of Wahl trimmers, but other than tidying up ear hair or the odd whisker it just packs up as soon as I show it some leg hair!!

Has anyone got any recommendations?

I have some Wahl clippers too. these are from argos, designed for dog trimming and are red, £40 I think. I chop the thickness off first with scissors then attck with the clippers, which are fab.

have u tried the harmony clippers they will do what you want, search on google for them, i saw a good price the other day think it was 24tack or robinsons. the harmonys can be battery or mains and you can swop think u will like em, my friend does

for a coarse hairy legged horse i would use the big powerful clippers that you have already! trimmers are not man enough for the job! just keep going ......
