I got the Wahl Pro trimmers (I think that's what they're called!) brand new for £22 off ebay, think they retail at about £50 so thought that was a bargain!!

I use a beard trimmer - it cost about £15 from Argos or somewhere like that. It's light, easy to clean and very quiet. I've been using it for three years now and it copes fine with thick hairs on cobs as well as my TBx.

The little Wahl battery clippers have no power & the battery life is poor, been there, done that & given them away.
I tried hair clippers but they are designed for humans & horse hair puts too much load on the motor..........however if you get the pet equivalent, which don't cost much more, then they are fine & will clip a head easily & should also do feathers. They run quietly & providing you keep them oiled they do well. These are the one's I bought & they do the little jobs fine, they also clip the dog well.
