Hi,
We are wanting to clip our gypsy vanners legs for this winter and also give him a trace clip. Can you reccomend any good clippers and also should they be medium or heavy duty ?
We are on a budget this year so would like some good clippers but not too expensive if can help it !
His legs are very very hairy by the way !
Thanks :)

My cob has clydsdale like feathers from the knee and very very thick, he has them clipped all year round. My lister star clippers get thru them fine, they are medium duty, quiet and lightweight.

I second (third) the Listers. I have the Star version and the medium blades did 4 full clips of hairy cobs last year.

I would say practise with someone else's first in case he's a demon to clip and chop off as much as possible with good scissors first, obviously.

I got my Liveryman Mustang's off ebay about 5years ago and they've never let me down. Now, sadly out of production.
However, If I was buying again, I'd go for Liveryman Arena clippers. A friend of mine has these and she hogs her cob all year round, including legs and they've never let her down.
