Hi guys, looking about buying myself a brand new pair of clippers but want some opinions as to what brand/model is worth the money? I don't mind spending up to about £380 for them but I want quality as I don't plan on replacing them any time soon lol!

Lister liberty cordless everytime!! think scats still have an offer on, you can get the Lister liberty cordless battery pack and the lister libretto (small trimmers) for £300

Before a set of clippers can be recommended we need to know the use you are going to give them. How many horses do you have & intend to clip. How many times a year & are you going to clip other peoples horses. This information is needed because different clippers have different wattage so if you own a couple of horses & these are the only ones you intend to clip you can buy clippers with a lower wattage that if you intend to clip numerous horses. Higher wattage clippers are more expensive than the lower wattage.

I have 2 horses & they are the only horses that I use them on. I have Wolseley Swift, they are 90watt & easily accomodate the work I give them. Wolseley have been around for years & are real work horses. I have had mine about 10 years & they have never let me down. I look after them, keep them oiled, blades sharp & store them at home in a warm room so they don't rust or deteriorate. If I was clipping more horses I would probably go for a set with a larger motor.

You will get a good run down of a variety of clippers on the Peasridge Website. They review many makes of clippers that they sell & the reviews are pretty honest. It will give you an idea of what may be suitable & you can always buy elsewhere if you want.

I finally admitted defeat with my Liverman Harmony, admitted they were absolute rubbish & splashed out & bought a 'proper' set of clippers! After much discussion & playing in the shop testing weight, noise & general handling, I opted for Wolsely Hunters & I love them! I only have 1 warmblood to do but she gets clipped every month in the winter & you can feel they will very easily cope with more. They're light but not noisy, easy to work with & well within your budget at about £320 xx
