I'm thinking about buying some clippers instead of paying for the yard to clip the pony. However, I have never clipped anything or really thought about clippers! I keep looking at what's availble and I'm not sure what I should be looking for....I need some to use on a native (so quite woolly), am planning on doing 2-3 little clips this year but in the future I may want to do a full body clip. Have mains electric / extension cable available. So what make, size, weight, specification should I be looking for

Thanks :)

I have some Lister Liberty clippers. They are battery powered but you can get a mains connection for them.

They clip my Welsh Cob with no problems at all, I also clipped a VERY hairy dartmoor last weekend and they did a good job on his winter woolies!!

Yes initially its quite painful, but if you look after them they are well worth the money :) In the 2/3 years I've had them I have easily saved money compared to having someone else clip him, plus I've learned lots of little tips and trick for getting a better finish everytime.
