Clippers - what should i get?

Hi everyone!
Have recently looked into buying clippers, but i'm really not sure which ones to get!
The past year that i've had my horse i have been paying for the yard manager to clip my horse, but she's been charging me about £50 each time and my mare needs to be clipped around 3-4 times a year. My horse is an angel to clip so i just thought i might as well buy my own and save a bit of money.
I have a 15.1hh irish cob, shes quite fluffy but not anything major like some cobs, the coat just lies flat but is very dense and will make her quite sweaty when i ride her.
My instructor said she had a pair of lister liveryman clippers which were brilliant but i can't seem to find those anywhere... was wondering whether i heard it wrong?
Anyway if anyone has any suggestions of good clippers i would be really grateful if you could suggest some to me!:)

Lister and Liveryman are makes of clippers so you may have misheard, I have Lister Liberty clippers which are still going strong after plenty of use.
 
I've recently just bought my first pair of clippers as I too got fed up paying £30 4 times a year and now he has got early on stage of cushings it's turned out to be a good thing! I've got the liveryman arena c30 or what they call liveryman blue they are excellent and am really pleased with them especially as I may have to clip him more often
 
I have just done my first clip using my new Lister Liberty's and I love them! Got a full clip done in under an hour and a really nice 'finish'. I have until now been using Liveryman Harmony's which were fine when I just had the one to do, but they don't cope so well with coarse coats which for me wasn't a problem as my first clip is always early.

I have Liveryman clippers (not sure which ones) but I find them very noisy and heavy. They also don't have a wrist strap. My husband bought them for me and they are a boys toy! They do do a good job and seem like they will keep going for ever (so I'd better get used to them).

I wanted Heiniger clippers which my friend has which are quieter, lighter, have a wrist strap and are cheaper!
 
I have Masterclip (the blue ones) have had about 2 years & done about 12 clips so far & all ok - normally have to resharpen blades after clipping & hogging the hairy cob type creature but blades will do 2 -3 clips on the less hairy ones x
 
My liberty clippers do thick coats, hogging and feathers no problem, I have medium and fine blades and use the appropriate ones depending on the horse.
 
Lister Liberty all the way! I clip my fluffy clydesdale x all year with them and they never struggle. He is truly a bear when he's hairy!
 
I have lister neons which have been great still going strong after 10 years and are mains but have just bought lister liberties as my new boy is a boy nervous and they run off a battery pack. I bought the deluxe pack which came with trimmers as well. Haven't clipped with them yet but have hogged and clipped off legs on my hairy cob and they were really easy to use and have left a great finish.
 
Sure Clip. Have only used once so far to remove all feather off VERY hairy cob and they were great. Quick and very easy to hold/use. Good price too.
 
another vote for Lister Liberty's! i had some liveryman for a couple of years they were fab and would whiz through the thickest coats but were very heavy and loud and hard to handle for tricky legs and arm pits! they went bang twice in the two years so im moving on! clipped my old bosses sj's for 18months with lister liberties would clip three in one day with them and they didnt get hot, kept running really easy to manouver - not as quick as the liveryman but do a very good job! Manged to pick some new ones up at a car booty last night for £150 :D so hopefully its not too good to be true! really wanted something cordless and these are the only ones that i have found that dont make my wrist flare up because the vibratios are lower and much quieter too
 
we have aesculop clippers.
they're great - lightweight, cordless and quiet.

One of mine is a nightmare to clip (used to have to get two lots of sedation from the vet to get done with the yard clippers) but he's fine with these ones. we're at the stage where he doesn't need sedated anymore.

All of ours are clipped year round so they've already paid for themselves.
 
masterclip royals for my furry forester, they can be used cordless or with the mains and quiet, light and good for beginners - i did my first clip using them in Jan on my very furry pony - he had been on box rest for most of the winter and was just coming back into normal work. I had never clipped before as had always paid someone to do but decided to give it a go do to having a pony who is good to clip and wanting the flexibility to clip whenever I needed to rather than having to arrange for someone to come and do him.
