Thinking about getting myself some clippers, need peoples opinions on what would be suitable to trace clip a 14.2 ginger pony, twice a year, he isn't afraid of the clippers so doesn't need to be super quiet or anything.
im looking at getting some Lister Star clippers (replaced the neon) my friend has them she brought them last year & has fully clipped mine & her twice aswell as lent them to a friend(thick coats) although she hasnt had them sharpened they do need doing! cost £225 new
I bought mine of ebay. They arent the smallest, quitest but they are amazing!! Have clipped my pony twice this year. He is a native so has a massive coat and it has done a trace and a blanket already and the blades are still incredibly sharp!!! They also don't get hot very quickly. They were onyl slightly warm after the blanket when I was clipping for about an hour
Oh yeah and they aren't a big make, just a replica of a make and I got free wireless trimmers which are sooo quiet - all that and clippers for £99!! and got clipper oil with it too!
Looks like the Lister Star and £225 ish (gulp) to pay then, cheers, have to think about it as £70.00 for two clips a year means 6.42 clips before makin it worthwhile, also means it will take 3 an a bit years to be worthwhile as well, unless I did a friends and charged same rate to recoup money.
yeh i know what you mean but im sure it came with a good warrenty, also if you've got your own you might find you'll clip more often i suppose for me Linx will be clipped 2/3 times a year probably 1hunter in late Sept then a blanket in Nov & possibly 1 more at xmas time dep on how its outgrown
I've got the Wolseley Merlin cordless clippers. I'm pretty happy with them. I haven't clipped her this year yet but I have done full hunter clips in the past with these. They are expensive but I bought mine for 350 in a sale. They last about an hour on a full charge.
