So in the next few months it will be clipping time. I need to get some, however I have always been sneaky and borrowed other peoples, all different kinds, so I'm wondering what kind to buy, can anyone help?

My horse is perfect to clip, infact she loves being clipped! So noise isn't an issue, tho to be really picky I'd prefer quieter ones for my own sanity!

Cost is also an issue, I want something that will give me a lovely clip, nice and easily, but I can't afford a humongous amount!! Although I will probably end up clipping quite a few horses so I guess they'd pay for themselves/

Suggestions would be appreciated, and also, being sneaky, anyone in MK who would like their horses clipping let me know

I have a set of heiniger clipper, they are amazing, best clippers I've ever used. However they are not loud but they are quite high pitched which my mare seems to detest

after 2 years of arguing about clipping I have resorted to using my friends lister cordless clipper that make a more gutteral noise (like they are always about to break!)

I'm selling my set, PM me if you're interested

I also forgot to mention quite a lot of horses will probably be clipped! So they'd need to be pretty indestructible. Thanks SS, I've sent you a message

I would go Lister all the way, been goping for years and you can get all the bits and bobs for them. We did buy some cheaper ones for just over £100 but they were so heavy and sounded like hedge trimmers!

I have a set of Lister clippers and they have been going for years! They are quite heavy duty ones (the Laser model I think) and are quite noisy, but IME horses are better with the noisier ones, rather than the quieter ones. Really easy to get blades and parts for them if needed too as they are such a well known make.
