Clippers

Recommendations appreciated!

I've not had to buy clippers for years. My last pair were Wolseley Swift I believe, but I sold them before I moved to Aus 4 years ago.

Now back in this cold, depressing country complete with fluffy winter coats and I'm on the lookout for some new clippers, however I suspect there will be some new models on the market that I've no personal experience of.

I'm often being asked to clip for other people so I'd like some that are suitable for doing 2 or 3 horses without overheating. I'm also little so something that doesn't way a tonne would be a bonus.

All suggestions welcome.

hauptner 2000 lightweight heavy duty clippers. this will be my clippers 3rd season and they are still going strong, i love them.

Heinieger Progress, lightweight and have slim handle so easier to hold, mine did 2 blanket clips and took feathers off one cob and would have done more.

My Lister Legend will do 5/6 horses without a break (haven't tried more!). They clip really well, the blades are not too expensive compared to other makes, the horses don't find them too noisy and they are good to handle. The price is reasonable too. Highly recommended.

ive still got a pair of wolsley swift clippers and love them. i had to buy a pair of cordless clippers as at the yard i was at had no electric so bought some heiniger ones which are great,lightweight and fairly quiet. i can easily do 2 full clips on one battery but anymore than that i go back to my mains ones.

Another thumbs up for the Heinieger Progress. Light to use and pretty quiet.

I had a budget and they were the best for my £s.

When i didnt have my own, i used to use a friends - she had Listers, and they were really really good. I was then lucky enough to get a pair of my own 3 christmas' ago, and was brought some Heineger progress'. If im honest i would choses Listers over Heinegers, because they dont heat us as quickly, although i do like my heinegers

Bedbug has a Lister Liberty - no cords! Battery pack on her belt and one charge easily does her hairy sec D

Really easy to service too with the single spring cam tensioner (know about that cos it's me who has to clean and service them )
