Hi everyone,

I'm new here. Been looking at this lovely forum for years and only just joined ?

I have a Welsh X cob who is very nervous of clippers, always needs a healthy dose of Sedalin to relax him sufficiently. To make the process as stress free as possible for him, I've just bought Harmony Plus clippers, as they are supposed to be fairly quiet and good for nervous horses ?

They have just arrived with a size 10 x 1.6mm blade and a size 10W x 2.4mm blade, and I'm not sure whether these will be fine or if I'd be better off buying some different sizes. There are so many blade sizes to choose from, so I wondered if any of you lovely peeps might have some advice. I don't clip his face or his legs, just full body clip, so I guess I'll need the widest blades, but have no idea about cutting length. Any advice at all would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance ?

The 10w 2.6 is the one you need for a normal clip. I used to hunter clip my horse with liveryman harmony clippers and that blade. I still use them for the fiddly bits but I have some bigger clippers to make things quicker.
