Ok so I have a dutch WB (second along in my siggy) who is in pretty hard work atm - and she is living out, with a lightweight (full neck) on as it's been so mild.

I have been holding off clipping as normally when I clip I then bring in at night (I'll be doing a hunter clip on her)

But she's getting a little woolly - not too bad but enough to make it take a while to dry her off.

Want to clip her this weekend but don't really want her in at night for another couple of weeks yet.

Do any of you clip and leave out at night? Weather is not to bad at the moment so should I just clip her and bung on a heavier weight rug? what do you think?

Funnily enough I have another WB mare, in foal, not rugged at all and she has hardly any coat yet.....

I'm in similar dilemma!! dont think it would hurt to clip and put a heavier rug on, you can always bring her in if its given out a cold night

Give her a small clip now (belly and bib) and a proper clip when she comes in.

This is what i have done with Blue, he has a chaser clip now and a medium ish rug and hood over night but naked during the day if its nice (like today) he too will be clipped properly (blanket or full) when he comes in overnight in Nov.

Mine had a hunter clip and had to stay out with a heavy weight rug as his stable wall was repaired and the cement was not dry just my luck he was fine.

Yep clipped my cob yesterday full clip as he will be doing hard work and was very hairy he's in his Amigo medium he also has a shelter and is out 24/7 which we both like but will come in if turns colder at night, but with it being so mild he's staying out.

Baron had all but his legs off on saturday. He will still be out 24/7 until the end of the month. He has a full neck MW on, he is quite a hot horse and only has a MW with a thin stable under it to turn him out in the middle of winter. Unless the weather takes a turn for the worse in which case I will bring him in.
