Clipping already?

My little cob has started to become very sweaty and im thinking about giving him a small trace clip. He currently lives out fully until the weather proper turns but will I need to put a light weight on him at night or not because it's still quite warm at times or will he be alright until it gets colder in the next few weeks sadly..

I think he will be absolutely fine without his rug for the next few weeks at least

I'm thinking of doing the same! My ID is sweating up a lot in work. Won't be rugging at night though as it's still warm.

I clip one of ours all year round, full clip though, and I do rug her. Where we are it is too cool not to rug overnight.

I clipped with a covercote blade in May and with a medium blade about 3 weeks ago.

Have to every year as he's got a very thick wiry coat and gets very sweaty.

He has a fly rug on for sun protection as he's very pink skinned, he's fine with just that at the moment.
