over the past 3 or 4 months my 5 year old cob has began her proper "education" shall we say, I have an hour lesson once a week on schooling and she is ridden either in the school or we're out hacking at least 2/3 times a week also. She is generally quite a sweaty betty and over the past few weeks her winter coat has really started to come in and by the end of my lesson on Friday she was soaked and steaming therefore I've decided it's time for her first clip!
My first question is, which clip? I would like to take the minimum amount off possible so I thought a bib clip initially however her whole neck and shoulder area as well as at her girth tend to be where she ends up soaking so I'm leaning towards an apron clip instead? This leads to my second question, currently they're out 6-6 during the day and stabled at night and they'll soon be coming in for the winter (turned out for a good few hours during the day when its dry and worked 3-4 days) with an apron clip would she be okay unrugged? she's only been rugged once which was the winter we got her when she was 6 months and she was out 24/7 and doesn't tend to feel the cold.

^This is her, she does however turn into a teddybear in the winter even though she's stabled.
