Clipping - blended legs?

Any advice on how to achieve a full clip with blended legs? We won't be out over winter so it doesn't matter if I mess up He's mega hairy already so might not be an ideal practice candidate but I can give it a go. I'm thinking that I should leave the lines a bit higher up than usual, turn the clippers to go with the grain of the hair and work on taking the harsh line away?

I go to the knee/hock and blend from there, from fine clip into full feathers!

Same as misstyc, I clip to the hock/knee and then turn the clippers around and grade it from there. If I want to leave more on then i might clip down the back of the leg only, to that point, then blend.
