there is somebody around me that is charging £48 for a full clip... i was going to pay somebody to do my horses, but there was no pay i'd pay that each for 3 horses, so i bought my own clippers and will do it myself! 5 clips and my clippers have paid for themselves!
i'm going to do some clipping this year and from past experience i've decided to charge a standard £25 for the clip but extra for exceptionally hairy/difficult horses, last time i did a really hard hairy horse that ruined a set of blades and took about 3 hours!! never again!!!
I had my youngerster clipped for me last year and I paid £15 for a trace clip, but that was based on the person coming to the yard to do several other horses that day.
A lady who clips locally charges £10 for bib, £15 apron clip, same for Irish clip, £25 for full trace clip (think it is £20 for low trace clip) and full clip £40.
I've got battery pack ones although they are a few years old - they are Lister Showman and came from Mole Vally Farmers. We used to clip our show cows with them back in the days when we had a dairy herd. We had 2 battery packs in case 1 didn't last long enough.
i charge 10 for a bib, 20 for a trace or chaser, 15 for a blanket and 17 for a full. 10 for hogging/legs trimming.
i dont charge as much for a full as its easier to do a full clip than a trace/chaser.
