Clipping Cob Feathers

Please could you let me know how you clip your horses feathers? I now own a cob (first one ever) and am getting conflicting reports about clipping up the leg or down the leg. The horse is not for the showing ring! but lots of muddy hacking, thank you

We only once had a VERY hair cob, rest have only ever had native style feathers but I used to clip down first then upwards when finishing off.

With ours we trim as much as possible first with scissors and them trim down the leg xx

Ours wouldnt let us near them with clippers to start with so looked a bit silly for a couple weeks after me and my mother struggled through with scissors alone always good fun ...

Down then up you soon get the hang of it.

I just do mine however to get the hair off and they always look neat! I do it up to the knee and follow the line of his white legs and you cant even see the line that way.
