Thing is, and in the nicest possible way, this poll doesn't really tell you anything, as there is no way of telling how hard a horse is worked and comparing it to what clip it has.....*gets coat*

Ok and I am being very silly here and sorry OP, slightly off topic but I don't understand these polls - what is the answer a % of? The total should be 100% but at the moment I can see 6.55% being yes and 5.45% no????????
Can someone help me?

That reminds me of overhearing a tutorial in the office next to me...lecturer (with rising panic in voice) was saying 'Well, Julie, percentages normally add up to 100 and I think we should stick with this approach' Tutorial from hell.

Perhaps your aims...and the aims of HHO poll design department don't entirely coincide?
I'll thank you not to use the s*****e word above...

I have no aims here, but I do think 99% of the polls put up don't tell the OP what they wanted to know in the first place. Of course there is always the problem that usually it descends into a 'he said' 'she said' cat fight too, but that is just entertaining.
If it helps, my OH says what I do is not 'proper' science but pseudo-science...

I don't know what you are seeing! This is what I see:
Yes
-
10 59%
No
-
7 41%
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes but it is a % - surely the yeses and the nos should add up to 100?? Or have I had too much vino?
[/ QUOTE ]
LOL - too much wine! It does not matter what the number of yeses and nos are: in the example above the total is 17. What matters is that of the 17 answers, 59% (i.e. 10 people) answered yes. Because to get a percentage you take the number from the answer (eg 10), divide it by the total number of answers (eg 17) then multiply by 100 (and then in this case round up to the next whole number).
So percentage is the number of people in every hundred who say 'yes' to clipping their horses. If 5 out of 20 said 'yes', then that would be 25%....25 saying yes out of every 100 respondents.
God, I need vino now

My favourite part is the quotes from her - she's not having any of it is she? Made me wonder why all those mathematicians spent all those years grappling with Fermat's last theorem when clearly all they needed was someone like her to explain how our numerical system should work, and they'd have been well away....genius.
All the time - possibly because I don't really drink. Means I have a LOT of blackmail material from our recent corporate away day though. Not that I would ever stoop so low, of course.
