What are we all paying to have our hairy monsters clipped this year and for what type of clip? I'm in Essex and have just paid £30 for a full clip and half a face. Legs left on. I thought £30 was really cheap or is that just me?

Nothing i got my own clippers and after a few bad clips i got better at it, well there ok enough for a beginner at it

I think £30 is about right for a full clip, it is cheap considering the time it takes, the amount of the hair that gets *everywhere*

and the cost of the clippers, blades sharpening & servicing etc.

Our yard manager charges £30 for a full clip which I think is pretty good value too.

I clip my own and certainly in terms of time and blades it seems like a bargain!

ooooooooooooph just paid £20 for full clip, but was best mate doing work, so defo mates rates. Normally £25 and for more than 1 horse prices comes down by 1 pound per horse

The clipper lady at my yard charges £25 for half an hour £40 for an hour so it's however long it takes to do it more than the actual clip.
I have my own now so although it doesn't look as good it works out lot cheaper.

I was going to ask this question!

I have a lovely neighbour coming to clip my daughter's pony this morning, and I was wondering what I should offer, as she will probably try to not take anything - she's too nice.

I clip my own pony, but my daughter doesnt want to have to take her pony out competing with a giant paper bag over my awful clip - my poor pony has to go out blushing and sporting an "interesting" clip!

I hate clipping and clipped two last weekend in racing goggles, beany hat, scarf, mask, and full body overalls with wellies. As such, I charge for the trauma of having hair up my nostrils

Full - £50 (full is naked including legs)

Hunter - £40 (half face, legs kept on)

Blanket - £30

Trace- £25

Clipping is my worst job. EVER.

I clip my own horse but would love to be able to afford to pay someone to do it for me as I hate doing it!
There is someone on our yard who clips for other folks and she charges £30 for a hunter clip. I would imagine that she charges less to do little ponies.

QR: I pay for the cost of blades sharpening because I have a lovely friend who wouldnt accept anything more!

(she'll go and charge me now
