Reading Silverfox's post further down I have got confused!
My horse is trace clipped and having a mega moult at the moment on his hairy bits.
I was planning on clipping him right out before the end of Feb to get the lines out. Last year I clipped him right out in April!
Obviously I do not want to ruin his summer coat and had no problems last year except for the fact he started to grow his winter coat very early - and it was fairly establised at the end Aug / start Sept.
What are the reasons why people don't clip once moulting has started? And could my late clip last year be responsible for his early winter coat?
