am I majorly early -- rode Murf today and he was literally dripping at the end of the session (his coat is so thick now so - got to clip tomorrow (which I really don't enjoy) and I'm scared I'll slip and take off half his glorious mane... And I hate the itchy bit afterwards!

No, i had to do a 2nd clip the begining of this week!! They do seem to be getting hairier eaalier this year!!! Yer i hate clipping to, my daughters is welsh i do a running plait to keep it out the way so i dont slip and clip it! And a overalls to stop the worst of the hair!:)

Im clipping my WBs soon as I have a day off, already done all my RS ponies and hogged them all
Tie his mane right out the way, its too pretty to risk it :D

My tb was clipped a few weeks ago, due to be done again soon so no you're not too early! My 2 ponies have already got thick winter coats however aren't being clipped as one is 2 and a half and the other resting after an injury :)

For his mane definitely tie it out of the way! You'll be gutted if you slip and hadn't tied it!!

I was hoping to wait until the end of October but one of mine had his first clip (a blanket clip) yesterday as he was just getting too sweaty. I think it's because the weather is still so warm and they have already started growing their winter coats.

Friend of mine clipped last week, horse had gone woolly and sweating when ridden. Do thinks its earlier this year, but its probably the odd weather we've been having!

No! I was hoping to leave Badger til opening meet (end of Oct), how wrong was I!! He is mega hairy!!

He's getting done on Monday. I hate clipping... let someone else do it! :)
