I did first clips in October and second mid November. Usually just after Christmas I run the clippers over the horses to remove the cat whiskers but this year, apart from one horse who has a few on his backside, and another who has a few under his jaw, the horses are clear. They are all getting summer coats, even the brood mares who are out during the day in all weathers.

Horses have generally been to hot in 'proper' winter wear, clipped, fit horses are just wearing cotton sheets and medium night rugs.

I cannot recall such a warm winter where I have been mucking out in a short sleeve T-shirt in January!

Mines moulting, and I'm in Northumberland. Naked tonight as very mild, the horse is not me! I think it's warmer outside than in or it definitely was at 8 ish tonight.

A T shirt!!!

OK...I'm officially a reptile... Still in layers up the yard and dug out my full length winter coat last week as I've been freezing moving between buildings at uni... Mind you, yard and university are both on the side of a mountain and it's Wales - plenty of wind and rain...

A few very hairy beasties here if you're bored... ;) :D
